Strom Minnesota is currently looking for a Cabinet Finisher for our client in Maple Grove, MN. Job Summary: The Cabinet Finishers prepare, paint, and/or stain custom cabinetry according to customer specifications. We use high quality formaldehyde-free polyurethane and lacquer-based products. Cabinet Finishers are proficient in all steps of the finishing process. This position utilizes a variety of application techniques including spraying, hand-wiping, brushing, toning, and glazing while meeting quality standards and maintaining production flow. Duties/Responsibilities: Review work instructions for product information and specifications. Prep cabinets for finishing using hand tools. Sand Remove dust from surfaces prior to the application of product. Prepare paint for application according to manufacturers recommendations. Stain Spray Apply primer, sealer, and painted topcoats. Create standard stain samples used to assist customers in the selection process. Operate Makor (automated painting machinery) and inspect finished application for quality. Regularly inspect and maintain finishing equipment and tools to maximize productivity. Maintain an organized and clean work area. Required Skills/Abilities: Ability to understand and take direction. Attention to detail is required to ensure colors and application meet quality standards. Knowledgeable in the safe use of equipment such as, paint guns, hand tools, hazardous materials. Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings. Ability to work efficiently as a part of a team and communicate effectively with other departments and personnel. Understanding of necessary mathematics Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent Prior finishing experience preferred At least two years related experience preferred Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of standing Must be able to lift to 50 pounds at times
