About the Role

The Company, a leading liberal arts college with a strong commitment to antiracism, diversity, equity, and inclusion, is seeking a Chief Diversity Officer (CDO) to further advance its transformative efforts. The CDO will be a champion of the institution's strategic plan and will work to embed diversity, equity, and inclusion practices into all college operations. This role is pivotal in building an integrated, college-wide strategy that serves the entire community, including students, faculty, and staff. The successful candidate will join an invested community and be responsible for coordinating leadership for diversity issues across the college, ensuring an equity-centered lens is incorporated into all decision-making processes. As an integral member of the President's Cabinet, the CDO will be expected to have a master's degree from an accredited university, a minimum of ten years of progressive administrative experience, and a proven track record of developing effective partnerships to facilitate organizational and cultural change. The role requires a proactive, patient, and empathetic leader who can inspire and listen to individuals at different stages of their diversity, equity, and inclusion journey. Experience in shaping institutional-wide diversity, equity, and inclusion plans and working closely with executive-level leaders is essential, with a preference for candidates with prior experience in higher education. The CDO will also be responsible for regularly evaluating ADEI efforts, aligning resources with objectives, and building upon the institution's current efforts to cultivate a diverse and welcoming environment.
