Basic Responsibilities - Work as directed by the Director of Landscape & Grounds
- Works with other managers in overall supervision of the Grounds Department as directed by the Director of Landscape & Grounds.
- Maintains all aspects of the irrigation systems.
- Assist other trades and grounds personnel as needed in a spirit of cooperation and teamwork.
- Continue to train and develop to the highest levels.
- Supervise any students assigned to the irrigation Department.
- Supervise staff assigned to the irrigation Department.
Essential Duties - Follow established rules, policies, and procedures of the Landscape & Grounds Department and ACU.
- Order materials and supplies as needed for the completion of daily tasks.
- Fill out work orders and written documentation
- Install and oversee installation of sprinkler systems.
- Maintain and adjust all times on sprinkler systems.
- Display initiative to work by one's self or in groups.
- Maintain all electrical systems that are connected to irrigation systems.
- Must assist in spreading of ice melt during icy days.
- Repair and maintain equipment to maintain the resources of the University
Professional Development Requirements - Knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Operate large equipment such as bobcats and backhoe.
- Computer training.
- Ability to read irrigation plans.
- Written and verbal communication skills
Qualifications Professional
- High School diploma or GED
- Licensed irrigator or Licensed irrigation technician.

Physical Demands - Good health; able to work in extreme heat and cold
- Must be able to climb a ladder
- Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs.
