SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Accountability for major program area(s) and supervision of program personnel, including supervisors, begins at this level. Education and experience are program specific. Assignments may entail a wide knowledge base, decision- making, and problem solving. Very detail oriented, organized, and able to meet deadlines, as well as ongoing task prioritization, are necessities.

Compensation: between $59,500 and $76,000 per year (salary determined by total years of relevant experience)
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master of Arts Degree in Social Work/Counseling or related field
  • State licensure for mental health practice preferred.
  • 5 years’ experience in field
  • Management experience essential
  • Valid drivers’ license

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides direct administrative oversite of the staff providing crisis response services in Iowa and Nebraska ensuring that program goals are met.
  • Oversees development and implementation of day-to-day policies and procedures for Crisis Based services.
  • Responsible for grant/contract management to include coordination and delivery of services per grant/contract specifications, compliance with billing requirements, and compilation and submission of reports to funders.
  • Guides project implementation in the Community Based Crisis Programming.
  • Collects and monitors data needed for reports.
  • Updates, develops, and completes forms for program needs.
  • Oversees all scheduling for crisis teams in NE and IA.
  • Responsible for promoting the image, reputation, and use of Heartland Family Service ASAP services to all area law enforcement entities and key community stakeholders, including mental health community providers.
  • Assumes the lead in the development and maintenance of program grants, contracts, and budgets.
  • Monitors program quality and prepares quarterly reports documenting key indicators and quality improvement plans.
  • Assumes responsibility of being on call 24/7
  • Keeps abreast of current issues related to crisis response services, including changing practices and regulations, through appropriate professional reviews, publications, industry periodicals, seminars, conferences, and workshops.
  • Displays a courteous and caring attitude at all times to the clientele, volunteers, and visitors of the Agency.
  • Cooperates and collaborates with program area staff, volunteers, and other Agency staff.
  • Is dependable and punctual regarding attendance and scheduling.
  • Abides by all specific program and Agency procedures, policies, and requirements.
  • Develops personal and program related skills through participation in internal and external training opportunities including printed material and audio and/or visual media.
  • Creates, maintains, and shares as appropriate a dynamic self-care plan.
  • Strives to make connections between the agency and the larger community whenever possible in order to contribute to the agency’s ongoing fundraising and friend-raising efforts.
  • Essential functions of this job is to be performed on company physical work site or remote location as needed using the HFS remote service.
  • Performs other program related duties as assigned.
