Overview:

The Crisis Services Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of Crisis Services ensuring seamless team management and development, program delivery, and quality improvement and evaluation. The Crisis Services Manager will have a community presence and maintain a commitment to the agency and the essence of crisis services.

Responsibilities:

Organizational Relationships
Report to Director of Crisis Services.
Responsible for direct supervision of program lead, nursing, and direct service staff of Crisis Services.
Liaison between crisis and external contacts such as referring agencies, hospitals, service funders, licensing/accreditation entities.
Performance evaluated by Director of Crisis Services.


Leadership
Cultivate existing relationships with community agencies with the goal of ensuring resources, and access to mental health services.
Participate in the development and implementation of best clinical practices and identify best practices associated with providing CMI services.
Participate program development of current and future programs to ensure quality services to clients served.
Participate in the development and implementation of orientation programs for staff and provide ongoing mentoring of staff.
Community leadership and community collaboration general community agencies at local and state levels.
Participate in the development and implementation of training programs for the professional development needs of all staff.
Commits to the hours needed to achieve outcomes and develop others to assure round-the clock leadership. Requires flexibility hours worked and shifting priorities as the environment changes, without losing sight goals/outcomes.
Follows up on client concerns as soon as possible. Work with staff to develop objective performance measurements across all sites, to ensure consistent, high-quality evaluation and goal setting for all employees.
May be requested to travel to conferences and meetings as an agency representative. Must be able to make arrangements to attend as required.
Conducts hiring and primarily responsible for orientating, training, supervising, and evaluating staff. in the recruitment, hiring, and evaluation of crisis services staff.
Participates in the development of quality improvement measures for crisis services.
Participates on internal quality improvement and Medicaid Integrity program committees to ensure implementation of and oversight of policies and procedures related to corporate compliance and Medicaid integrity compliance.


Program Operational Management
Provides oversight, direction and technical assistance regarding program policies, procedures, standards, rules, regulations and plans to ensure quality services to the clients served.
Oversees/implements required prior authorization certification, utilization review and processes/strategies compliant with managed care payors and all other forms of funding available.
Assists Director in all aspects of fiscal management of these programs.
Will offer direct treatment services.
Assists in unity staffing schedules.
Coordinates compliance training and oversees Quality Assurance activities as assigned by the Director of Crisis Services and AbbeHealth.
Develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate program delivery improvement.
Provide initial and ongoing training on new policies to all staff.
Coordinates with the Director and direct service staff to ensure stakeholders involvement in program policy development.
Responsibility of a rotating on-call lead for crisis services afterhours, weekend, and holidays.

Basic UPH Performance Criteria

Employee maintains current licenses and/or certifications required for the position.
Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, TJC, DNV, OSHA and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare.
Completes all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year.
Is knowledgeable of hospital and department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse. Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of hospital administrative staff. Takes appropriate action on concerns reported by department staff related to compliance.

Qualifications:

Education:

Holds a minimum of human services, nursing or other related bachelors degree. Masters Degree preferred

Experience:

At least three years of experience with one year minimum supervisory role preferred.


License(s)/Certification(s):

Valid drivers license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Demonstrated success developing and evaluating program models and selecting and successfully operationalizing innovative programs.

Proficient in using technology as a management reporting tool and experience working with information technology staff to develop and implement program evaluation systems.

Strong project management skills managing complex, multifaceted projects resulting in measurable successes and program growth.

Strong understanding of human resources, employee performance improvement plans, and corrective action policies.

Broad knowledge of licensure, accreditation, governing body standards for crisis services.

Strong leadership sills and experience in facilitating interdisciplinary collaboration.

Strong organizational skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with exceptional attention to details.
