Job Description

A K-12 itinerant teaching role is available for a professional specializing in education for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. This contract position offers a commitment for the next school year, providing an opportunity to work 25 hours per week within a diverse K-12 educational setting located in Jasper, Alabama.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students across multiple grade levels (K-12).
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with school staff and families.
• Provide itinerant support, traveling between schools as necessary to serve assigned students.
• Utilize appropriate communication methods and assistive technologies to facilitate student learning.
• Monitor student progress and provide regular reports on educational outcomes and goals.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to promote inclusive educational practices.

Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification related to Deaf and Hard of Hearing education.
• Experience working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in an educational setting, preferably K-12.
• Strong knowledge of instructional strategies and technologies tailored to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community.
• Ability to manage itinerant responsibilities effectively, ensuring consistent student support across multiple sites.
